- This procedures describes how the navigate the q-Status Iconic Interface.

Overview The q-Status Iconic Interface consist of three parts:
- Header Hyperlinks Rollovers
- Revision/About
- Search
- Documentation
- Administration
- Icon Rollover Set
- Navigation List (Context Sensitive)
The Header Hyperlinks Rollovers set does not changet from Icon set to Icon set.
The Navigation List is context sensitive which depends of available functionality and the currrent Icon Rollover Set dispayed. It is also customizable and may have other entries within as shown defined by the conf/customLinks file. It consist of:
- Basic (If not selected)
- Disk Volume Manager (If not selected and data avaialble)
- Complex Servers (If not selected and data avaialble)
- Compare Baseline (If data avaialble)
- Golden Compare (If data avaialble)
- Custom Links

To access the About Box move the mouse over the Header Hyperlinks Rollover on the left side of the Header which display the version of q-Status. The q-Status revsion number will change to "About".
Click mouse to display the about q-Status "Solaris Configuration Management" popup window.
The display window contains LogiQwest contact information for support and maintenance issues. It also contains the current Release Data and Version Number. In reporting issues with q-Status, this 'About" information should be provided.

Search Dialogs.

To access the q-Status Search dialogs move the mouse over the Header Hyperlinks Rollover text "Search" The color of the text will change to orange and a search popup window will be displayed.
Move the mouse across this popup window to select the appropriate search function:
- Search Patches
- Search Packages
- General Search
Click the text to make the selection. The appropriate search dialog window will be displayed.

To access the q-Status HTML Documentation move the mouse over the Header Hyperlinks Rollover text "Documentation" The color of the text will change to orange. Click the text to dispaly the "Documentation" index web page.

Administrative Menus.

To access the q-Status adminstrative functions move the mouse over the Header Hyperlinks Rollover text "Administrative" The color of the text will change to orange. Click the text to display the "q-Status Administrative Menus" web page.
The "q-Status Administrative Menus" provide the following functions:
- Create Baselines
- Delete Baselines
- Create Golden Parameter Set
- Modify Golden Parameter Set
- Archive Golden Parameter Set
- Delete Golden Parameter Set
- Assign Server Images
- Assign Server Serial Numbers
- Create Groups
- Assign Servers to Groups
- Create Domain/host cross reference for Star Fire Server (E10k)
Accessing q-Status
Basic Icon Set.
q-Status initial interface is titled "Configuration Management" and is called the "Basic" icon set. It consists of the following icons set and function:
- Network
- Summary - reports all server active networks interfaces by IP address.
- Interfaces - reports active server network information for single server with detail information including IPMP and Zones.
- Patches
- Compare - performs comparisons between multiple server of installed patches and revisions.
- patchdiag - performs a patchdiag analysis on a single server
- Summary - performs a patchdiag analysis for all servers in a set and display summary.
- Packages - performs comparisons between multiple server of installed packages and revisions.
- Kernel - performs comparisons between multiple server of active kernel parameters define din the /etc/system file.
- Hardware - reports server hardware, network and installed disk information.
- Disks - reports server installed disk information.
Notes:
- If the "Configuration Management" basic icon set is not visual, this icon set can be displayed by clicking the mouse on the text "Basic" in the Navigation List.
- Blue rollover text in this icon set will display a selection page for a single server.
- Orange rollover text in this icon set will display a multi-server selection page to generate a comparison report.
Accessing q-Status
Complex Servers Icon Set.
The "Complex Servers" icon set can be displayed by clicking the mouse on the "Complex Server" text in the Navigation List.
The "Complex Servers" icon set consist provides the following icons and functions:
- Sun Fire Server ( SF3800, SF4800, SF6800, SF6900, etc.)
- Boards - System and I/O Board Layout
- Status
- Configuration
- Star Fire (E10k)
- Boards - System and I/O Board Layout
- Status
- Configuration
- Star Cat (SF12K, SF15K, SF20K, SF25K, etc.)
- Boards - System and I/O Board Layout
- Status
- Configuration
- Sun Cluster
- Resources
- Status
- Configuration
- Veritas Cluster
- Resources
- Status
- Configuration
- Solaris Zones
These icon sets are context sensitive and will only display is data exist to support them. For cluster, cluster data must have been collected. For complex servers, system controller information must have been collected.
Note: All Blue rollover text in this icon set will display a selection page for a single server to generate a single server except where the text is "Configuration". "Configuration" selections in all icons will display ALL the system configurations in one report.

Complex Servers Icon Set.
The "Disk Volume Manager(s)" icon set can be displayed by clicking the mouse on the "Disk Volume Managers" text in the Navigation List.
The "Disk Volume Manager(s)" icon set consist provides the following functions:
- Disks - reports server installed disk information.
- Veritas Volume Manager
- Disk Groups - Display Veritas Disk Groups.
- Layout - Display Veritas Disk layouts with assigned raw disks.
- Sun Volume Manager - Also called Disksuite. Displays Disk layouts with assigned raw disks.
Note: Blue rollover text in this icon set will display a selection page for a single server.
Performing q-Status
Group filtering.

Select a group from the "Groups" pulldown at bottom of the Navigation List will initiate any select or display function of q-Status to display only servers in that group. This is useful to reduce processing time for Summary reports.
Note: The Group pulldown will only be visible and selectable if a Group as be define and a server has been assigned. See Administrative Menus.
Performing q-Status
Compare Baseline.
Move the mouse over the text "Compare Baseline" in the Navigation List. The color of the text will change to orange. Click the text to display the "Select Host for Baseline Comparison" web page.
Note: Appearance of the "Compare Baseline" text in the Navaigation List is context sensitive and will only be present is a baseline has been collected. See Administrative Menus.
Performing q-Status
Golden Compare function.
Move the mouse over the text "Golden Compare" in the Navigation List. The color of the text will change to orange. Click the text to display the "Select Golden Parameter File" web page.
Note: Appearance of the "Golden Compare" text in the Navaigation List is context sensitive and will only be present is a baseline has been collected. See Administrative Menus.
